Cover
Who can join?
Anyone living in South Africa, aged 18 to 65, who would want to be taken home to Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Lesotho or Eswatini. You can also cover your spouse, children, parents and other family members.
When does my cover start?
Cover starts 30 days after we receive your first payment. If you add a family member later, their 30 days start from when they were added.
What is the difference between Basic and Premium?
Both plans cover the full journey home. Basic brings your loved one home by road with a licensed transporter. Premium flies them home as air cargo, covers a higher amount per journey, and includes a flight for one family member to travel home too.
Does it matter where home is?
Tell us the country and home town when you join. Our receiving partners in that country handle the journey from the airport to your family. You can update it at any time.
Payments
How do I pay?
Pay each month by EFT from your banking app, or deposit cash at the bank. Always use your Nyumba payment reference so we can match your payment.
What if I miss a payment?
We'll remind you. You have a grace period to catch up. If a policy stays unpaid after the grace period it lapses, and the family is no longer covered.
When someone passes away
What should the family do first?
Call us or send a WhatsApp message as soon as possible. You can also report a death online. We will guide you from there.
Will the family have to pay anything upfront?
No. For a covered person, we pay our funeral partners directly, up to the limit of your plan.
How long does it take?
Our target is 5 to 7 working days from the first call to arrival at home. Some steps depend on government offices and airlines, and we keep the family updated throughout.
